Planning Your Wedding Made easy

Many people underestimate wedding favors and just how much work can go into them; as a consequence they are often left until the last minute to organize. Fortunately, there are a number of different options which are very easy to arrange at the last minute. This is important because it can take a great deal of stress when you realize the big event is rapidly approaching and these haven’t been organized.

One option for an easy wedding favor, especially popular with the ladies is flowers. There is virtually no preparation involved in this and depending on how many guests you have you may not have to order them well in advance.

A symbol of love, the red rose is one of the more popular choices and they do not require much preparation. It is simple to have these placed by the caterers on the day just prior to the wedding reception.

Always a popular easy wedding favor option is candy as most people will be more than happy to have a small carton placed for them on the table. If you prefer, there is an even easier method to give candy which can also save money at the same time. This can be accomplished by using large bowls filled with different types of candy as the centerpieces on each table.

All you need to do after this is arrange for each wedding guest to have a small box where they can place their candy. All you have to do is let each guest have the option to take whatever candy they like and you won’t have anything more to do.

Although candy is popular, you may wish to give your guests a picture frame which is longer lasting and more useful. If you intend to use picture frames as your wedding favors there is a way that you can present them to your guests without have to wrap them! If you use the frames to hold the place cards however, wrapping will not be necessary.

For those of you that like an easy wedding favor that is a little different then why not use a local photographer, you can have each guest pose for a shot which can be presented to them at the wedding reception. The photos can be printed out whilst the reception goes on and the guests will have a pleasant surprise at the end of the evening when they leave as their photo will be waiting for them. As everyone will be looking at their best this is a wedding favor they will really enjoy; seeing themselves this way in a professional photo. Many professional photographers have purchased small digital projectors so there is no reason why you couldn’t request one at the reception and this way your guests could see the images that had been taken during the day.

  1.  Gourmet Coffee Packs - Buy a special flavor of gourmet coffee. Place enough in small plastic bags to make one pot of coffee. Tie the end up with ribbon. Add a sprig of flowers and a gift tag. And you can add a heart coffee scooper.
  2.  Origami Figure - Pick up a book on origami (Chinese paper folding) at your local library and buy some beautiful origami paper from a local craft store in your wedding colors. Create a figure that reflects your wedding theme and give one to each of your guests.
  3.  Message in a Bottle - Buy cheap bottles at a Dollar Store or craft store. Fill part way with confetti. Create a small, hand written scroll with a special message to your guests. Roll up and place in the bottle.
  4.  Deck of Cards - Have your photos imprinted on a plain deck of cards.

  5.  Bookmarks - Create bookmarks with a graphic at the top or use your engagement picture. Type in a short poem and add your wedding date. You can pick up plain bookmarks at local craft stores and print them off on a color printer.

  6.  Seashells - Spend a day at the beach gathering interesting seashells. Decorate each one with ribbon and dried flowers.

  7.  Tree Seedlings - You can purchase small tree seedlings from your local nursery. Tie a ribbon around the pot and include a message that asks your guests to plant their trees so they can grow, just as your love will grow.

  8.  Fortune Cookies - Buy fortune cookies at a local grocery store. Carefully remove the message with tweezers, then insert your own messages inside. Place 2 or 3 cookies on a circle of tulle and tie up with a colorful ribbon. Or you can use silver plated fortune cookies from Discount Wedding Favors

  9.  Liquors - Purchase those small bottles of sample liquors found near the checkout of most liquor stores. Tie a ribbon and message around the neck of the bottle.

  10.  Personalized Candy Bars - Buy flat candy bars (like a plain Hershey’s chocolate bar). Measure the wrapper on the bar and figure out where the section of the wrapper would be on the top of the chocolate bar. On the computer, create a design or special saying within the top area. Type in your names and wedding date as well. Print out the design and cut to fit if necessary and wrap the bar in its new cover. Use a glue stick to secure the ends along the back.
