Why Not to Choose AdSense: 3 Reasons

The top 3 Reasons you should not choose Google AdSense as the way to earn with your website.

  1. There are better alternatives! AdSense may be the easiest choice, but it is not the best.
  2. They can close your account! Their Terms of Service says they can close it for any reason.
  3. Poor support! They send automated replies to emails, only rarely answer your question.

I hope this convinced you to choose another ad provider. If you have more reasons to hate AdSense, feel free to comment.

Just when I began to loose my hope in Google Adsense

It’s been over a year now that I had my Google Adsense account opened. Last summer these days, I was busy getting frustrated because, whatever Adsense optimization I tried, I couldn’t earn more than 4-5 dollars a month. I was slowly losing hope that I would ever see my first 100 dollar check.
But now I see that Adsense doesn’t work that way. Earning a few hundred dollars a month right from the beginning, is actually a miracle which happens to the very lucky few, or people who already have very high trafficked sites. It went quite gradually for me. Each month I earned more than the month before, and after I received my first hard-earned check last january, everything became much easier. Now, I can see that it really isn’t that hard to recieve a check from Adsense each month, but you have to:

1. Be patient. Only the lucky few start earning hundreds of dollars from the beginning in this business or those who already have very high trafficked sites. Many of us, after being accepted by Google, start putting the Adsense codes on each and every site we build and then we complain because of the little money we earn. Google as a general rule, trusts older sites much more than new sites, and when its about Adsense, you’ll notice that the older your site gets, you’ll start getting more valuble ads.

2. Definitely start using the channels. The most important thing about Adsense, is that you should test, test, and test until you start getting satisfactory results. And to do this you should be using the channels service Google provides with Adsense. You can give a different name to each and every ad on your each and every page and trace them with these channels. And don’t say “enough” to your tests and tweaks until you get your Clickthrough Rate to something near at least 10 %. This isn’t so hard to reach, so don’t stop and watch your earnings while your Clickthrough Rate is something like 3 or 4 %. This means you are leaving more than half of the money you can earn on the table.

3. Practice search engine optimization (SEO). Without traffic there won’t be any Adsense clicks. So in order to increase your traffic you have to make your site or blog more visible to search engine users. The ultimate road to high Google rankings pass from good link building strategies (as is written in this “zonenoktaorg seo” post) and plenty of original content.

The Top 3 Ways to Monetize Your Website

On the internet there are typically 3 real ways to make decent money: AdSense(through google), YPN (through yahoo), affiliate marketing (clickbank, commission junction, or azoogle ads), or creating your very own product.

1 - Pay Per Click:

Text ads such as Google Adsense, Yahoo!, Kontera, and so on are a great way to supplement your income stream from your website. If you have a large reading base, or tend to have massive amounts of traffic to your site, implementing Adsense, or Yahoo! Publishing may be a great source of income for you.

Although no one should bank on these as their main income stream. Google or Yahoo! can change their terms of service in a heart beat, and your revenue could plummet. So make sure you’re checking all of your options before you use this technique as your main source of income.

2 - Affiliate Marketing:

Another popular, and higher paying source of online income from your site is by becoming an affiliate and promoting other peoples’ products on your website. This is a great way to make a little extra money with your site, as you don’t have to put a lot of effort into creating a product.

Although, you must “pre-sell” the user on the product to make them click the affiliate link. Although this may seem difficult, there are many ways to do this with ease.

Two very popular affiliate programs are:

Clickbank
Commission Junction

There are others, so make sure you look around and find out what service best fits your needs.

3 - Product Creation:

Product creation is one of the most effective ways of building a revenue stream from your website. You keep 100% of the revenue, and you also have the fulfilling feeling of owning something. Here are my steps to creating your very first product.

You’ll want to develop a decent reader base to your blog/website. Once you have them, begin to poll them with a form from Aweber, capturing their name and email address. When you’ve gotten plenty of questions, and a lot of people (make sure you’re staying in touch with them, answering random questions and giving them good content), you’ll want to take the main questions and develop a product out of them.

Once the product is done, sell it to the newly acquired list!

Project Black Mask - Cutting Edge Or Moldy Black Hat?

The latest big seller on click bank, Project Black Mask, is ruffling some feathers in the internet marketing circles. The forums and blogs are buzzing with glorious praise and black hat bashing. This is fairly normal whenever black hat methods are mentioned. There are a lot of people who don’t want to here anything about methods that are considered unethical or shady. This is a personal choice that you must make on your own.

What is of concern is whether or not the techniques mentioned in the book work or not. Some of the posts that I have read that were not obvious black hat bashing, stated that the methods gone over in the book were old and not very effective any more. Knowing a little bit about black hat, I must dis-agree.

This is the first real “main stream” discussion of black hat tactics that I have seen. The popularity of this book, currently #1 at click bank, has made black hat tactics a house hold name. The two primary methods described are the bread and butter of black hat. They are fairly simple to implement and not too expensive for the average person to give a shot.

I’m sure there are many advanced tactics to be used but you need to be part programmer, part rocket scientist to implement. The two blueprints in the book also come with some good niche and keyword advice. To find out more check out my full review here. I am also in the process of running a couple tests using the 2 methods and will be posting the results as well.

Project Black Mask Brings Black Hat Into The Mainstream

The latest internet marketing manual, Project Black Mask Adsense, has ruffled a few feathers. The forums and blogs are ablaze with debate. This is the normal reaction amongst internet marketers when ever “black hat” methods are mentioned. They either love it or hate it. There are a lot of people who never even heard of these methods before, but that is going to change fast considering the popularity of this ebook.

There really isn’t anything illegal about the black hat methods, but they do “game” the system to an extent and can possibly get your domain banned from google. But what about grey hat methods. I personally use an automated blogging software to get my “white hat” sites indexed by the search engines quickly. Once they are listed, I go back to normal white hat methods of promotion.

Is this wrong? Am I a bad person because I want to get my sites indexed in a week or so instead of waiting for 2 or 3 months? Granted, some the the methods being used are downright devious, but who can blame people after the recent “google slap”. Let’s face it, adwords is becoming a killing field. I was recently running a pay per click campaign for a “bass fishing” ebook. The other day I get an email from google stating that my campaign required my attention.

My keywords were inactive and I needed t0 raise my minimum bid to $10.00 to reactivate them. This campaign had been running for months at .35 per click and wasn’ t doing badly either. Some jerk came along and put in some crazy price per click. Who can blame somebody for looking at alternative methods.
