Why autographs are great to collect

I have been collecting famous peoples autographs for about 10 years, but until yesterday I never really knew why - I thought it was cool to have the celebrity autograph but never thought about selling it! - I sold 5 of my 500 collection of celebrity and film star autographs and managed to make a whopping $34090!!! pretty good for  but a tiny proportion of my ever increasing collection! I would highly recommend it if you wanted to make a living out of any collectable.

Hunting - Crash Course in Field Dressing

Hunting - Crash Course in Field Dressing

1. I know it might be stating the obvious, but ALWAYS carefully check that the animal is definitely dead. Don’t get too close until you know for sure.
2. Always tag your animal in accordance with local regulations before you do anything else.
3. Now turn the animal onto it’s back. If at all possible, the animal’s head should be on a higher level than it’s tail.
4. Carefully remove the penis and scrotum if required, then cut around the anus. I recommend that you cut it off to avoid contamination that fecal matter can cause.
5. Starting from the rectum, cut through the hide carefully so as not to puncture the innards
6. When yourknife reaches the rib cage, turn the animal onto one side and the organs will roll loose. Reach under to sever the tissue holding them in place.
7. Put your hand inside the brisket as far as you can and cut the windpipe, then remove the vital organs - lungs, heart and liver.
8. Your animal is now ready for transporting. When you get back to your destination or camp, hang the animal to allow it to cool, cleaning the remaining scraps of tissue from the carcass.

9. Always follow these rules, and you’ll be a more efficient and more responsible hunter.

Golf and Music

Go to any driving range these days and you will see plenty of younger golf players practicing while listening to music, using such popular products like the iPod.

The young players are not the only ones using music as a way to enjoy their swing sessions. Some professional golfers even listen to music during a tournament, such as former Canadian, Richard Zokol.

Can Listening To Music Be Beneficial?

At first you might be inclined to think that listening to music during a game of golf or while practicing at the driving range would be too distracting. However, for many people, listening to an enjoyable tune puts their mind at ease and gives them a different kind of energy that blocks negative thoughts.

It’s just like driving your car when listening to music. You don’t worry about driving, making turns, adjusting the mirrors, scared of the road… Everything just becomes second nature.

We believe that the same holds true while listening to music while playing golf. Try it sometime and see if it works for you.

How Parents Of Junior Golfers Can Make The Most Of Their Child’s Game

I have seen dozens of junior golfers, kids that had excellent natural abilities on the golf course, have their joy for the game literally demolished by overzealous parents. But face it, all of us moms and dads want our children to excel and be successful at every sport they participate in, right?

All three of my children are involved in various sports themselves, with two of them who are gaining the same appreciation for golf but I have. If you are lucky enough to have kids that love golf, as my children do, then you also have spent plenty of money on golf lessons and the essential equipment needed for them to play. These items do not come cheap, especially a reliable set of golf clubs.

In addition to money invested into your children, there is also the time that you put into playing with your kids and showing them the ropes of the game. It is a pleasure and a wonderful experience to be a part of. Having said that, are you wasting all of your time and money by trying too hard to teach your children to be successful at golf?

Be A Partner, Not A Coach

It’s hard to admit, but the truth is that for many of you parents who are trying to show your kids how to play golf, most of you have no clue what you are doing. Now before you get offended, allow me to explain.

There is a fine line that can be drawn when you are trying to help your children learn something new. It happens all of the time. Whether it’s golf, homework, or any other instructional activity, you both start out excited and happy to play the game, but it soon ends up with you acting like a “frustrated coach” trying to get your child to listen and obey your instructions over and over again.

You Are Not Qualified To Teach

Again, do not let the title above alarm you. The point here is that giving golf lessons takes a lot more than what most parents can provide (and a lot less in terms of attitude).

It is better to support your child and be a partner, a friend. Let a real golf coach takeover the job of teaching your son or daughter how to play.

Yes, it actually is a “job”. And when you take on this job yourself the relationship between you and your child changes from a fun atmosphere to that of a boss/worker type of relationship.

Keep It Fun

Golf is a mental game and the moment a child’s mind starts to fill with fear and frustration from not “getting it right for Dad”, the joy is gone. Try not to fall into this trap with your kids.

Golf is fun and it should be taught and played with excitement. No matter how poor your children may be performing or the lack of listening skills they may display, you cannot become frustrated. All they will see is how you react and when those reactions are negative, do not expect your child to continue playing golf in the near future. Remember, hand over the lessons to a professional. Instead, continue with your role as the supportive, loving, encouraging parent.

Putting in Golf

Putting is a very important part of the golf game. This can be where a game can be decided. Poor putting can add many strokes to your score. Mastering putting requires lot of patience and practice. Putting can be nerve racking even for good players especially when the game depends on it.

Below are some tips that I have put together as a guide when putting during a game.

1. The first thing to do is to stand behind the ball and visualise how you would want to execute the shot. Of course, you would have read the lie already.

2. Take practise shots to establish the rhythm in putting the ball. This is to give you a good feel of the actual stroke to be made. Feel is important in putting.

3. Pick a spot along the putt path that you visualised. Used this as an intermediate marker for your putt. This spot will help you align your shot in the right direction. Aiming to a spot nearer is always easier than the hole which is further away. This is helpful if you have a long putt.

4. Align yourself using the marking spot as a guide. Take a comfortable stance. Remember your shoulder should be aligned parallel to the direction of putt. For me, i tend to drop my arms straight down from my shoulder. Make sure you are comfortable.

5. All putts are straight. It is the terrain that will “turn” the ball along the path. Now, that you are aligned to an intermediate spot along the path, you are now ready to putt.

6. Once ready, focus on the ball. This will help in lining your putter up behind the ball. Focus on the shot and not anything else. Do not worry about the marker or the hole. Let the terrain do the rest of the job. Your job is to launch the putt along the direction determined.

The key factor in putting is the feel. And as with all golf shots, practice will help build the feel in you. Just stay relaxed and focus on executing the stroke. You should be fine. Take a deep breath and not let any distractions affect you.

Happy Putting…

Johan Wissman swedish 400 metres athlete

With the World Championships in Osaka just weeks away, I take the chance of putting some money on a real dark horse. Johan Wissman suree has the chance to a medal, I’d say. Earlier in his career he focused on the shorter distance, 200 metres, but his long term goal has always been 400 emtres, seeing the 200 metres training as a way to gain the necessery speed. While it’s his first year doing the longer distance he has sure made some great performances so far. The old swedish national record Jimisola Laursen held has been wiped out, and as I said, if Johan has the luck to get good lanes then reaching the final should be pretty easy, and with a little more luch a bronze medal is sure possible.

Epicondylitis Lateralis, better known as the tennisarm

Playing tennis is my life. Not that I’m playing at a level that gives me an income to live from, but I play four, five times a week and it has become a part of my life wich I can’t ignore.

After gaining a bit weight and years of age the tennis game became slower for me and injuries started to tease me along with the game that I like so much. A sevear pain in my right elbow, my playing arm, brought me to my therapist who told me that I had a epicondylitis lateralis, the so called tennisarm. As he treated me almost 18 months I realised that it would not go away by his way of threating my injury. Worst of all is that I was just watching the tennis game at the tennis court, because playing was absolutly impossible. So I went on the Internet and searched in forums and blogs to find a way to stop my injury that took away a fun part of my life.

Surfing with my left arm I found my solution. A therapist in the Netherlands, in a town called Eindhoven, told me on the phone that he could treat my tennisarm in just three treatments, money back guarantee, also for my plain ticket. I asked him if he was joking and he told me that he would guarantee that for me if I would leave a note on his website after the injury was gone. So we made a deal and I traveled to Europe with a stop in Eindhoven to see Kees Tempel.
He treated me exactly three times and my tennisarm was gone, and still is.

A great fun part of my life is back again because my right arm is smashing aces again on the tennis court.

A Guide to the Different Paintball Tactics

A Guide to the Different Paintball Tactics

Before you play any game you want to know about the different tips and tactics that you can use to come out number one, and with paintball it is no different. There are lots of different paintball tactics that you can use to help improve your game, and you should at least know about the most basic paintball tactics.

Before the Game

Before the game even starts there are certain things you can do and one is that you are going to want to take a look out at the game field that you are playing on and check out everything, from the bunkers to the players on the other teams, so that you can figure out all of the weaknesses. You want to know beforehand where the best places are going to be for you to hide, and remember that paintballs can make it through incredibly small places.

You also are going to want to make sure that you have plenty of paintballs, so that during the game you are not going to be surprised if you run out and have no defense. Also make sure that you talk with your teammates before the game so that together you can discuss what your game plan is going to be and what other paintball tactics you are going to want to use.

Hiding During the Game

Although actually shooting your paintballs is one of the most major parts of the game, so is taking the offense and that means knowing how to hide. There are many paintball tactics that refer to hiding, and for instance when you are hiding behind bushes, you need to realize that you cannot depend on them to completely cover you from the oncoming paintballs.

You also want to make sure that you use your cover to your very best advantage, and for instance being directly up against your cover is not good because then you do not have as good of a view as you could have if you were to stand a bit further back from it. Also your best cover is going to be one that is solid because the paintballs are not going to be able to get through and so you want to keep this in mind too.

It is pretty easy to see how many paintball tactics there are that you can use, and it is important to use as many as possible if you want to have the best paintball game that you have and come out being number one out of your group.
