Project Black Mask Brings Black Hat Into The Mainstream

The latest internet marketing manual, Project Black Mask Adsense, has ruffled a few feathers. The forums and blogs are ablaze with debate. This is the normal reaction amongst internet marketers when ever “black hat” methods are mentioned. They either love it or hate it. There are a lot of people who never even heard of these methods before, but that is going to change fast considering the popularity of this ebook.

There really isn’t anything illegal about the black hat methods, but they do “game” the system to an extent and can possibly get your domain banned from google. But what about grey hat methods. I personally use an automated blogging software to get my “white hat” sites indexed by the search engines quickly. Once they are listed, I go back to normal white hat methods of promotion.

Is this wrong? Am I a bad person because I want to get my sites indexed in a week or so instead of waiting for 2 or 3 months? Granted, some the the methods being used are downright devious, but who can blame people after the recent “google slap”. Let’s face it, adwords is becoming a killing field. I was recently running a pay per click campaign for a “bass fishing” ebook. The other day I get an email from google stating that my campaign required my attention.

My keywords were inactive and I needed t0 raise my minimum bid to $10.00 to reactivate them. This campaign had been running for months at .35 per click and wasn’ t doing badly either. Some jerk came along and put in some crazy price per click. Who can blame somebody for looking at alternative methods.

Time - It’s always moving.

Where does time go? Our lives are fast paced and over scheduled. Without calendars, we really wouldn’t know what day it is. Custom promotional calendars help us sort through the blur of time, keep appointments and meetings, remember birthdays and anniversaries and basically organize our lives and make us more efficient. One promotional calendar per household isn’t enough anymore. At home, they can be found in the kitchen, next to a phone, in the bedroom, on the fridge, in a purse or wallet, the garage, or the computer room. At work, on a mouse pad, desk blotter, a wall, a weekly planner - and the list goes on! We need one for work, for school, our social lives, and for our kid’s social lives!

Top Ten Ways To Get Tons Of Traffic

Look, its obvious isn’t? Without a ton of traffic to your site you aren’t going to get any sales or any leads.

Over at WebmasterFX.com, the number one question I receive from my clients is “How do I get more traffic to my site?” I’m about to let you know some easy ways to get visitors flocking to your site starting today. Lets look at some obvious but often overlooked tips:

1. Get a Killer Domain Name.

People will never forgeta catchy domain name. Be sure to choose a short and easy to remember domain name that is appropriate to your business and has a nice ring to it. Remember the domain name is your online brand.

2. Upload Fresh and useful content.

These days people are banner blind. They want more than ads. Give them information they can’t find anywhere else, and give it to them for free. Give them the content they want and need. If you do don’t know what it is, Ask them.

3. Get yor site seen by the Search Engines.

Search engines bring more than 75% of traffic to most web sites. You can submit your site all day long but the best way to get seen is to get links on quality relevant sites. The search engines will find you within days. You can seek out both one way links from other sites and also reciprocal link exchanges with other webmasters. Just stay away from those nasty link farms!

4. Pay For Top Spots.

The quickest way to get website traffic without trying too hard is to pay for it. These advertisements would be posted on prime locations or banners of websites.

Banners are cheap and are great for branding, thogh don’t expect a ton of click throughs. Popular websites like leading newspapers and search engines would provide immediate recognition and visibility to their customers. If you have the cash, spend it. Many don’t or won’t.

5. Form a Community.

Start a message board, email group, or even a chat forum. Actively participate in these groups by posting answers to other people’s questions. Be visible and always include your signature at the end of your postings. The best thing about these types of sites is that people come back again and again. Check your hosting account to see if you have free forum software included. I bet you do.

6. Start Your Own Mailing List.

It is the best way to keep in touch with your prospects and your customers. Build a relationship with your list. Your email list can make your site a success again and again. The best customer is an existing customer.

7. Start an E-Zine for Your Website.

An E-zine is an extension of your site, but this will highlight new information and features of your site. People will be reminded of your website as they read each issue.

If they find they issue interesting or worth sharing, they can easily and instantly pass this on to the people within their network. Give them a freebie for signing up.

8. Submit Articles.

Write your own article just like this one and submit it to e-zines, websites and magazines that accept article submissions. Be sure to include your business and contact information and website address in the resource box.

9. Exchange Ads with other Website.

Create ads that will promote your business and website. Submit this to e-zines or other websites in exchange for free ad space in your own electronic publication. Your presence on other sites is very important in getting the increased traffic that you want. This is usually facilitated with either simple links or flashy banners.

10. Always Update Your Website.

Your website should always be up and running and full of fresh content. It is to your advantage if you maintain your website with new articles and updated features. If your visitors always find what they want and need, they will definitely be coming back again. Additionally, search engine spiders love a site with changing content!

Now go back to the top and read through this list again. You may think you know this information already, but I wonder how many of you have actually taken action on it. Also don’t be discouraged if you don’t see amazing result straight away. I guarantee working on these strategies a little bit each day will bring some serious traffic in the weeks and months ahead.

The Role of Search Engine Rank in Driving Traffic to Your Website

Having a desirable search engine rank is ideal for driving
traffic to your website. Generally, the majority of a website’s
traffic comes through internet users’ use of the search engines.
A good search engine rank is really important considering that
over 80% of traffic for most websites is directed via search
engines and most users of search engines only click through to
websites that have a search engine rank within the first three
pages of the search engine results.

There are a number of search engines today. Each search engine
has its own algorithms which are rules that determine how
websites are placed in their search engine rank. Thus, a search
engine optimization strategy that provides a desirable search
engine rank in one engine may not produce good results in another
search engine. So, when trying to achieve a beneficial search
engine rank, you really need to focus on one, or maybe two search
engines for search engine rank purposes. If your website gets a
good search engine rank in the other search engines, you can
consider that a blessing.

Since your optimization strategy does need to be focused to be
successful, you may wonder which search engine or engines you
should focus on to achieve a search engine rank within the first
three pages of results. I recommend focusing your search engine
rank attempts on Google first, and Yahoo! second.

Getting a good search engine rank with Google will undoubtedly
drive loads of traffic to your website. Statistics have
repeatedly shown that Google is the most used search engine with
Yahoo! coming in second. These two major search engines also
power some of the smaller search engines, meaning that the
results generated by small search engines draw their results from
the major search engines. So, if you get a good search engine
rank in Google or Yahoo!, you will likely get a decent search
engine rank in some of the search engines they power such as MSN,
AOL, Ask Jeeves, and Alta Vista.

Another reason to strive for a top search engine rank in Google
is that it is an organic search engine, thus the results the
search engine displays are based on the quality and relevance of
the information on a website to the key terms searchers use
rather than being based on paid advertising and who can pay the
most to reach the top in search engine rank.

When you do a search using Google, you will notice that sponsored
links that appear at the top and at the right of the screen are
clearly marked so the searcher knows they are paid ads. All other
results generated are generated based on algorithms, not paid
advertisements. With Yahoo!, you can also tell which results are
generated as a result of sponsored links. If you cannot achieve a
search engine rank in the first three pages of Google or Yahoo!,
you can always opt for paid advertising that will get you listed
in the sponsored links.

Google’s pay-per-click advertising program is called AdWords.
Yahoo!’s cost-per-click advertising program is offered
throughYahoo! Search Marketing (formerly Overture). With both of
these programs, you can get your website advertised as sponsored
links in search engine results even if you cannot organically
achieve a search engine rank. Both programs have budgeting
features which enable you to control the amount of money spent
through your pay-per-click/cost-per-click advertising campaign.

The difference between organic search engine rank listings and
pay-per-click/cost-per-click search engine rank is that organic
listings don’t cost you anything while with per-click listings
you are charged the amount of your keyword bid for every click-
through to your website. Whether you get a search engine rank in
the search results naturally or through paid advertising, the
search engine rank is vital for driving traffic to your website.

Increase Online Traffic with Directory Listings

Some of the best advertising available online would be getting listed in directories. This doesn’t mean submitting to search engines. If you write quality ad copies and build a quality site; the important search engines will find you.

What I am talking about is directories that you pay to be listed in. With these types of directories you pay to be listed in for a certain about of time. Some are weekly, monthly, yearly and even lifetime listings. This is also an excellent way to get those ‘back links’ to help you rank better in search engines.

It is a proven fact that ‘back links’ help increase online traffic. But, the back links that are most effective are links to your website without a return link. Take Link Exchanges for example. With Link Exchanges you request one website owner to place a link to your website on their site with a link on your website to their in return. These are effective however, most directory listings that you pay for do not require a link in return and these are a more effective form of backlinks.

Search for directories that best fit the target of your marketing program. Take a look at this list http://www.mommyshelperonline.com/why-purchase-directory-listings.html for example. If your target is for small business owners, home business owners and work at home moms then some of those directories may be of interest to you. The key is to find your market and advertise there.
