The famous lady writer, George Sand, was a puppet fan. “Her feeling was that when she thrust her hand into the empty skirt of the inanimate puppet it became alive with her soul in its body, the operator and the puppet completely one.” It’s true. Your hand puppets will lead you into a new and wondrous world from which you will not-cannot escape.
Here is a way to fill a rainy day with fun: make a puppet and give a little show. Most of the materials you will need are around the house. Briefly described here are three unusual types of hand puppet: finger puppets, rod puppets and shadow puppets. These last designs include highly specialized comic and exotic puppets and some two-handed puppets. The puppeteer who has come this far is ready to exercise his own ingenuity, and so in most cases complete construction details are not given.

Every year, hundreds of new teachers flock to the land of the rising sun. Their plans are to enjoy the following 12 months or more teaching English in Japan. It’s a fascinating opportunity - some will either hate it or love it. It’s rare to fall in the middle. Amongst fellow English teachers I know of, the ones that love their new lifestyle are usually the ones that have made the effort to learn Japanese. It helps you become more independent and fit into society.
However, learning Japanese is not an easy feat. Especially with the distractions of the internet. Furthermore, as an English teacher, the opportunities to learn Japanese is rather low. Reason being is that you are always in the classroom teaching English. It’s even worse if your students are children, as there will be no opportunity to build an outside the class friendship.
Ideally it’s best to do a few months beginners course before heading abroad in the search of ESL jobs in Japan.

This checklist outlines the free tools you should use to make your website known, before even considering advertising campaigns.
- Submit to major search engines: Google, Yahoo, Msn. Of these Yahoo is the easiest: read their site submission help here. Google does not offer site submission, but you can use their webmaster tools to help googlebot index your site. Msn offers Microsoft Small Business Centre, which does much the same thing.
- Add to major directories:ODP/dmoz, and Yahoo Directory.
- Add a link to your site to all of the following:
- Your e-mail signature
- Your signature in any discussion forums you are part of
- MySpace
- Your profile in any sites that allow it, for instance Orkut
- If you have a blog, post about your new site there; if you don’t start one. You don’t need to post often, or any great content, but you should have one, no matter what you do online. Then use the pinging service of your blog if it has one. This helps other sites find your blog, which in turn leads search engines to your website.
After that you can move from basic SEO to more advanced optimization concepts and techniques.

New clinical research shows that 60% of a baby’s skin may be a lot drier than it looks. According to the Eczema Institute and the National Institute of Health, approximately 65% of infants and small children will suffer from some form of eczema, dry skin, or cradle cap before the age of 5. Purebaby.com launches its new website and offers parents the opportunity to try it leading product, Pure Baby® Eczema Care cream. In 1998, Pure Baby® was the first company to introduce a line of products solely dedicated to the treatment of eczema and cradle cap in babies and toddlers.
Founders Theresa & Lance Phillips say, “In March, 1997 our infant son developed cradle cap on his scalp when he was just 3 months old, we tried everything and nothing worked. Well, after extensive research we decided to make our own product to treat his condition. After only one application, his cradle cap was gone and never returned”.
Since the introduction of Pure Baby® products in 1998, mothers everywhere have been experiencing the same results as the Phillips’ did in 1997. Heather C. from Medford, MA says, “This is by far the best product for treating babies with eczema, and dry skin on the market. I have tried EVERYTHING including a prescription medication. Nothing works like Pure Baby® thank you for such wonderful products”. Victoria K. from Newark, DE says, “Please don’t stop making this cream, it is the only thing that works for my daughter. She has been using the Pure Baby® Eczema Care since birth and she is now 4 ½ years old, she will never outgrow it”.
Adults have also noticed softer and more supple skin after using the Pure Baby® Eczema Care cream. All of Pure Baby® products are 100% fragrance and dye free, which pediatricians agree is a very important factor in controlling eczema flare-ups. Pure Baby is so confident that you will love our cream that we are giving new customers a chance to try our product. Customer will only be responsible for shipping and handling ($6.95). No other purchase is necessary and no telephone orders will be accepted.

Surely you can put on a party all by yourself, can’t you?
Yes you can.
But I’ve seen and heard time and time again the laments of well-meaning friends who decided to help someone plan an event, “I didn’t realize planning an event is so much work!”
After all, you only have to: find a top notch caterer, select the proper menu, call in a band, get some tables, decorate the tables, create a fabulous center piece, choose a lighting professional, find a location, negotiate terms, make a guest list, prepare the invitations, print the invitations, mail the invitations, create a theme, decorate accordingly, hire some side attractions, pick a creative photographer/videographer, select some flower arrangements, negotiate hotel rates for out-of-towners, and the list goes on…
Yes, anyone can do it. Do it well? That’s another issue.
Most troubling is, you never get to enjoy your own party!
Then there are corporate events - don’t ask.
Any company that tries to do it themselves are laying to much on the line.
With reputations at stake, it clearly isn’t worth a do-it-yourself approach.
I’ve seen corporate events that were simply pitiful. Two hundred guests standing for 2 hours because there weren’t enough chairs…cold food…sound equipment with no sound…did someone forget the lighting?
Yes. Planning an event is a big production whether you want it to be or not. Your guests will talk - this you can be sure of.
And let’s not forget Murphy’s Law with regards to production: “If anything can go wrong - it will.”
Unless it is your two year olds’ birthday - you might want to consider some professional help and advice.
Seek out someone with experience. Leave it in their court and have fun!

There are ways to choose the sex of your baby - or at least try to. But is there anything available that teaches you how to plan the sex of your baby naturally? Yes there is. In fact there are a few methods, some do nothing more than make you feel like you have a better shot than the 50/50 you already have, others increase your odds to about 80% - not bad. I have come across one that claims to increase your odds to 94.7%. Is that really possible? Short of spending about $25,000 I haven’t seen anything that comes close to these odds so I decided to review the program myself and see if it really does what it says it does. Take a look at that review and decide for yourself by clicking on the link above.
