URL Masking Service

Such an important tool for webmasters is url masking. This gives you the opportunity to cut long long long url’s into short urls. Some of the most likely benefits for webmasters and individuals are the following:

  • Easier to remember. Tell your friends at a BBQ or use these short url’s in your promotional efforts.
  • Mask your affiliate links and increase sales. Customers are always hesitant to click on an affiliate link.
  • URL blocking. Is your url blocked by some websites? Then use a url masking service like shorten.ws.

These URL shortening sites offer a free service to webmasters. Some of them place ads or frame on your new short url, so make sure to use a url masking service that offers lots of gimick free stuff for the webmaster.

Google Pagerank Algorithm Explained

Google uses the PageRank algorithm to rank pages in their search engine results. The algorithm is based on analysing link structures: each link can be seen as a vote by a page for another page it links to. It is necessary to have a basic understanding of how PageRank works to be able to optimize web sites for the Google search engine .

History of PageRank

PageRank was invented by Larry Page at Stanford University, and named after him. Page began the project in 1995, and worked on it with Sergey Brin. The project then lead to the prototype Google in 1998. Google Inc. was founded to manage the Google search engine, which used PageRank. Currently the trademark PageRank belongs to Google Inc., but the original patent for the PageRank algorithm is assigned to Stanford University.

Google has since grown to the largest search engine in the world, with nearly two thirds of searches made on Google. The PageRank algorithm is still one of the factors taken into account in Google’s search engine result ranking, and it is constantly followed by interested search engine marketing specialists around the world.

The PageRank Algorithm

A good analogy for the PageRank algorithm is that each link is a vote for the target page. This link structure of the web is analyzed recursively, so that the value of each vote depends on the PageRank of the voting page, calculated from the votes in the previous iteration of PageRank.

When a new page comes into being in this link structure, it will only get a PageRank value once other pages link to it. Each link will give some PageRank to the new page, the amount a single link gives depending mostly on two things: the PageRank of the linking page, and the number of links on it. The more outbound links a page has, the less weight each of them will have.

The actual algorithm used by Google is, naturally, more complicated then this. That algorithm also takes into account page topics. Pages with the same, or related topic that link to each other will carry more weight with their links than completely different pages that link to each other.

It is thought that raw PageRank data exists as a floating point number for each page. These real time values are constantly updated by Google crawlers. The visible PageRank value that can be seen on the Google Toolbar is on a scale from zero to ten. This is exported from the real time PR data approximately once every three months. On Google Directory the PageRank is reported as an eight unit measure, which is also periodically compiled from the real time data, though less often than the toolbar PageRank is.

In Conclusion

The voting analogy describes the PageRank algorithm fairly well, but, though Google may claim so, it is not a completely democratic system. The weight of each link depends both on the PageRank of the page linking and the number of links it has. To improve PageRank, more inbound links, preferably from pages with high PageRank, must be acquired.

Best Web Hosting and Blogging –Reviewed

I didn’t know how good it could be until I opened a new account with….I had been limping along for a couple of years before I made my move. I was making money online but I was really doing too many time consuming tasks that I really didn’t want or need to be doing.

The learning curve was huge and it didn’t need to be. You see I tried to go the cheap route and I ended up spending time with tasks that were not relevant to my revenue model.

How much is your time worth?

Is there a big difference between $3.00 a month and $7.00? Yes at $3.00 dollars a month you miss out on more family time and revenue because you spend more of your time doing non productive tasks. Heck I blow more than $7.00 on coffee!

The difference is $4.00 a month WOW and that $4.00 a month investment turned into more profits and additional time to enjoy what I enjoy most my loved ones. Profits and time a great combination.

I come from a technical background. But after the move I realized that I didn’t need to work so hard at the hosting part of my business

  • The ease of servicing is very refreshing.
  • The pricing is great.
  • The uptime is great.
  • The available options are great.
  • Unlimited add on domains (when you grow you have the room)

Just having piece of mind and additional options to run my business make the pricing even more valuable. I now spend my time on more important events family, sharing with others and revenue building activities. I pay about $7.00 a month; well I pay by the year!

I host a several domains and now I can add more, my account comes with unlimited add on domains. More business more fun!

I know there are many different options out there for hosting and I will give MyHosting a HIGH rating. For the price I feel you can’t beat them.

My blogs are up and running and the setup was extremely easy. A couple of click and they were done. Blogs are fun and powerful tools. Do you have one you should?

Hosting has really showed me what a great hosting service is all about.

I only regret one thing I should have found them sooner.

Getting Google AdWords Pay-Per-Clicks FREE

A gentleman from New York discovered what he calls an “oversight” on the part of 99.9% of all marketers that allows him to get otherwise paid-for advertising at Google as well as all other search engines that allow sponsored ads.

And no, nothing about his “secret” is illegal - nor does it require that you know someone on the “inside” at Google, Yahoo, MSN, Overture and others.

Instead, the New Yorker boasts proudly “…this is something that I caught onto just before 2000 when there was so much search engine craze running around, and started doing small just to test things at first … but which I later expanded on after getting the hang of it.”

This same fellow went on to start and operate sixteen separate online companies selling everything from pet food, DVDs, children’s toys & games, books, software, and sold not only his own manufactured products but became an affiliate for other web businesses - all the while applying his mastermind secret.

Over the course of nearly eight years the New Englander confesses “I’ve actually gotten over $87 million in advertising that using my secret I never had to pay for … and the largest share of which was more recently in Google pay-per-clicks as well as other forms of pad advertising at search engines … all of which I got for free …”

So powerful is his secret that he’s able to monopolize any niche online, and can always secure the top premium spots just above the usual organic results featured at most search engines.

He still has to set up an account with the search engines - but after applying his secret he is removed from having to pay for all the costs otherwise involved.
Again, nothing about his secret is either illegal or robs from the search engines.

One spokesperson from one of the most popular search engines said chuckling after being made privy to this amazing secret “Wow! Ha! This is really unique … and in my expert opinion it would only serve to enhance and bring more business to us at [name of search engine withheld for legal & confidentiality reasons] and not cause us to lose business in the slightest. Amazing!”

The northerner revealed that in this nearly eight years’ period of time since applying his secret he’s done well over $300 million in sales revenue with a most diverse line of products, and most recently in the last two years netted nearly $166 million after really “buckling down and pressing my secret to its fullest potential.”

Now to everyone else’s fortune, the city slicker is releasing his secret for getting an unlimited amount of pay-per-click ads to the general public. But he’s not promising any of us for how long.

A bit of an eccentric, the gentleman says “We’ll see just how long I can make it available before it saturates things.”

One famous public web guru pointed out that although this man may gain economically more so as a result of the publication of his secret “he’s already so amazingly rich that whether he continues or discontinues its sale will neither make nor break the man, but not grabbing it for yourself while it’s still available could prove disastrous for you as you may only have one chance, and a very limited one at that, to get this.”

It is currently available at:

Google AdWords For Free

…so you may want to head on over there now and get it.

It’s in a very easily readable format and is quickly and readily understood and mastered by anyone with even a 4th grade reading level.

While you’re there, why not scroll down and review for yourself the huge successes others are now having with this incredible breakthrough in targeted advertising now made freely available to the rest of us?

Web Template Designs the Way!

Nowadays, new website start-ups are more interested in time to market rather than wasting valuable time on template designs. And it makes perfect sense to want to spend your time marketing rather than time tedious website design. Designs From Nature offer a huge range of already made, professionally looking themes and templates ready for use. Some of the popular categories are:

  • WordPress Themes
  • OsCommerce and Zen-Cart e-Commerce Templates
  • Macromedia and Microsoft FrontPage Templates

If you really like a theme and are hesitant from other websites using the same artwork and layout, you can easily be the last person to buy that theme by opting to close it out. What this essentially does is take that theme/template offline so no-one can purchase it anymore. However, this option doesn’t come cheap, at around $2000+.

The majority of web templates are sold for less than $100.

Why Not to Choose AdSense: 3 Reasons

The top 3 Reasons you should not choose Google AdSense as the way to earn with your website.

  1. There are better alternatives! AdSense may be the easiest choice, but it is not the best.
  2. They can close your account! Their Terms of Service says they can close it for any reason.
  3. Poor support! They send automated replies to emails, only rarely answer your question.

I hope this convinced you to choose another ad provider. If you have more reasons to hate AdSense, feel free to comment.

Do you Youtube?

And so you should! Uploading videos to Youtube is a lot of fun. But then sharing your videos with your friends has always been a bit of a hassle due to the unwieldy, long URLs. Until now that is!

Just head on over to VideoGuru.org, enter your Youtube ID in the search box and all your latest videos will be displayed on one page. Just one URL to ‘copy & paste’ to your friends!

You can also search for videos on almost any topic (remembering that Youtube does not allow videos with pornographic content). Definitely a very useful website.

How New Authors Can Keep Their Manuscripts Coherent

In large publishing houses, many manuscripts penned by first-time authors, never make it past the “first reader” who for all practical purposes is a gatekeeper of sorts. This person’s job is to weed out manuscripts that do not fit certain established submission criteria. However, many never make it to the editor’s desk, simply because they are badly disorganized and downright incoherent.

But even if you are self-publishing, you owe it to yourself as well as your readers to develop a theme. Not only will a theme tell what your book is about, it also serves to hold your book together. Every other element — your chapters, for example — should support your theme. It is what keeps you from rambling all over the place, and if you should stray, it is what can bring you back — if you keep it in front of you.

That’s literally, as well as figuratively. I wouldn’t begin to write or give a talk without having a developed theme. Have you ever been to a banquet or meeting where the speaker went on and on with a speech that was all over the place, talking about everything under the sun, except the topic the audience was waiting to hear about? Most likely it wasn’t because the speaker didn’t have a topic, but rather it was because the speaker didn’t have or didn’t take the time to develop a theme. If you want your story to be just as disjointed —then don’t develop a theme for it.

Unlike a working title that may change to something else entirely different or even several times before a manuscript is finished, a theme shouldn’t change during the course of your writing. It may become more obvious during the writing process, but I advise writers to spend serious time developing their theme so that they are clear about the message they are trying to convey. If it is not clear to you, how can you write it in such a way that it is clear to your readers?

Unfortunately, you cannot find the answer to why you are writing your story in this article, or in any book for that matter. You cannot even find it in a classroom setting. Books and classes can only serve to help you bring the reason(s) to the surface, but the answer must come from you. How then, do you determine your book’s purpose? How can you be certain that it is more than a good story? Your book’s purpose is, to a great degree, intertwined with your purpose.

Mark Victor Hansen, co-creator of the Chicken Soup series suggests meditation, or deep, controlled, concentrated thought. He says, “Relax and tap into your mind, way back there in the deepest, secret compartment of your mind, by asking yourself this
question: ‘If I knew my life purpose, what would it be?’ Don’t just ask it once. Keep asking this question until you get the answer. It may not come the first day, or even the first week. But it’s there, and it will show its face if you earnestly ask.”

Hansen states that this should be repeated every morning and every night for 15 minutes until the answer comes to you, and then write it down. He continues, “Be open to the answer, no matter when it comes to you. Remember, it wants you just as much as you want it.”

A good theme does three things: 1) it describes the story or book; 2) it captures the uniqueness of the story or book; 3) it motivates the author. If it accomplishes these three things, it will also make your outline easier to create. In business-speak, an “elevator speech” is a brief description about your company that you should be able to give to someone in the time it would take to ride up an elevator. I hold that everyone writing a book needs an elevator speech, or theme, for it.
