The quick weight loss methods which have spread like fire these days do not provide lasting results. More often than not, dieting methods which involve dietary drinks, foods and supplement or pills do not work. If they do, the results are just temporary.
It is better to rely on a healthy weight loss option which will provide lifetime results. You have to set realistic goals and not expect to lose a lot of pounds in a short span of time. Here are the three simple tips that solve your health worries once and for all:
- Have a proper diet
- Stay fit with exercise
- Don’t give up
By following just these three simple (they are!) steps, you can achieve a lasting weight loss effect that improves your health substantially. Don’t get fooled by the miracle diets or the extravagant exercise equipment that do the work for you. The key to losing weight is knowing yourself and having determination.

Are you aware about Do you know what the risks are of high blood pressure? How do you know if you are at risk? There are many different causes for high blood pressure. This article explores the methods of diagnosing high blood pressure as well the preventive remedies for managing it.
Your blood pressure is high if it is over 120/80, which is the normal level of blood pressure. There are many everyday lifestyle habits that raise your pressure that you might not be aware of. If you are overweight you are at a greater risk of developing high blood pressure.
Try to start a healthy diet or start exercising. Even losing a measly ten pounds can help you drastically and keep your blood pressure normal. Physical inactivity is also another lifestyle habit that causes many Americans to develop high blood pressure.
Try to be physically active. It is not difficult to incorporate exercise in your daily schedule. Try to do at least thirty minutes of exercise a day. This will help lower or control your blood pressure.
Indiscipline in food intake and good health can not go together. If you want to stay healthy, you have to watch what you eat. Having unhealthy eating habits can cause high blood pressure as well. Try to eat less salt or sodium and more vegetables and fruits.
Using tobacco products is a great risk for developing high blood pressure. It is quite possible that many smokers are already afflicted by high blood pressure and are ignorant about it. There are many ways to quit smoking.
Every one is stressed at some point during their lives. You might be stressed every day or just once in awhile. Stress can result in high blood pressure as well. If you find yourself stressed more often than not, consider some relaxation techniques. Meditation is a great way to start. If this does not work, consider something different.
Drinking alcohol also causes high blood pressure. Do you drink quite a bit? Historical evidence suggests that more than two drinks for a man and more than one for a woman can raise their blood pressure. If you drink more than this, consider cutting back. Once again, if you are addicted to drinking, or smoking, you can find many ways to help you quit.
We have seen how lifestyle and habits can result in affliction of high blood pressure. A home blood pressure monitoring device is really useful for high blood pressure patients or even for those who are likely to be affected. It will true to its name help you monitor your efforts of controlling it.
Be warned that lifestyle changes and exercise alone can not cure you. Medicines may also be necessary. The best way to know this is to visit your doctor. You can get correct feedback for your queries. You can expect to achieve a healthy and active lifestyle with active support and guidance from your doctor.

I have been asked many times, why certain people develop a
stutter. I personally believe there are many reasons and this
article describes some of them and gives examples of why certain
people of whom I have met via my occupation, started to stutter.
I myself had the speech impediment, known as a stutter for
eighteen years, it started to ruin my life from the age of four.
After successfully overcoming the stutter at the age of
twenty-two, I now as a career help other people to achieve
fluency. As you can imagine, I have therefore met and helped
many people who stutter, and always ask them, how and why in
their opinion their stutter started.
Quite a few people are not sure, however other people state the
following reasons:
It was triggered after a traumatic event
It runs in the family
They copied a friend at school who had a stutter and then it
stuck with them
An over aggressive relative
Because they were left handed!
A couple of years ago, I had a female client who told me about
how she had developed a stutter. She was able to talk fluently
until the age of twenty-four. She then fell pregnant for the
first time, and was very excited about the prospect of becoming
a mum.
She was apprehensive about the birth and her friends had been
winding her up by telling her how painful the experience is. She
knew that they were only teasing and tried to ignore their
comments.
The day of the birth arrived and unfortunately the delivery was
particulary difficult and very painful. This really shocked and
traumatised her, she had never imagined that it could have been
that bad. After the birth of the baby, who was a healthy boy,
she developed a stutter.
Not all people who stutter have it from an early age, another
one of my clients was fluent until the age of nineteen. At this
age he had a car crash and this was the trigger for him to start
stuttering.

I was at the pharmacy the other day when I overheard a customer demand that their prescription medication be brand name only and not generic. The pharmacist pleaded with the customer not to throw away her money for a drug that was equally as efficacious but in generic form.
The pharmacist all but gave up until the customer realized that generic medications are basically made by the same companies that produce the branded versions! Only they manufacture the generics under a subsidiary which has a different name. Generic medications such as Yasmin, viagra, soma, cialis, levitra, and otehr generics can be found at online discount pharmacie. Some even offer free samples and price matches:

Anxiety depression is actually characterized by all sorts of irregularities and erratic behavior from the person who is suffering from it, this is usually due to certain stress triggers that may tend to easily cause a person undue jitters and stress. Also, a lot of people who tend to get easily nervous
over stressful activities are actually prone to having anxiety depression, its just a matter of being strong-willed when it comes to facing difficult and stress-prone activities. It may be pretty hard to overcome at first, but trying to be calm and cool in times of extreme pressure is what’ll actually save your mental health from going totally downward spiral.
When it comes to effectively curing one’s self from a mental illness, one must keep in mind that you have to be actually honest with yourself and assess what kind of depression or mental illness you actually have, go to reputable psychiatrist to get yourself diagnosed correctly as well as be able to get the right depression treatment for yourself. Here are the various types of depression:
Manic or Bipolar depression - characterized by sudden and extreme changes in one’s mood wherein one minute he or she is in an elevated state of euphoria while the
next minute (day or week) he or she is feeling to be in a personal hell.
Postpartum depression - characterized by a prolonged sadness and a feeling of emptiness by a new mother wherein physical stress during child birth, an uncertain sense of responsibility towards the new born baby can be just some of the possible factors why some new mother go through this.
Dysthimia - characterized by a slight similarity with depression, although this time, it’s been proven to be a lot less severe, but of course with any case, should be treated immediately.
Cyclothemia - characterized by a slight similarity with Manic or Bipolar depression wherein the individual suffering from this mental illness may occasionally suffer from severe changes in one’s moods.
Seasonal Affective Disorder - characterized by falling in a rut only during specific seasons (i.e. Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall) studies however, prove that more people
actually fall in to a rut more during the Winter and Fall seasons and lastly, Mood swings, wherein a person’s mood may shift from happy to sad to angry in just a short time.
But the type of depression that has actually been proven to be quite common among people is anxiety depression, which is actually characterized by the state of being overly anxious about things. Anxiety, a supposedly normal behavior that’ll actually help a person adjust more to a certain stressful activity like first date jitters or a grueling exam the following day. Anxiety actually helps you get psyched up towards facing certain "difficult situations"; anxiety therefore is actually a good thing. Anxiety depression however, is simply the opposite, not to be easily dismissed as a "case of the nerves"; Anxiety depression is in actuality an illness that can be caused from the biological makeup of an individual, or in other words, a hereditary illness.
Also, there are actually various types of Anxiety depression, each having its own unique characteristics. Take for example Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD, this kind of Anxiety depression is a lot more complicated than the average Anxiety depression, in spite of possibly being a day-to-day habit for those who suffer this kind of Anxiety depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually makes the individual quite more paranoid than usual, anxiety attacks are more frequent, even absurd at times. They can even be anxious even when there’s no apparent reason that calls for them to behave in such a way. People suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder actually shows a lot of symptoms, from lack of sleep, to being unable to relax, getting tired easily, cannot concentrate on what they’re doing and even suffering from depression. This kind of Anxiety depression is still curable; just a little work will actually do the trick.
Consult a reputable cognitive behavior therapist who’ll help give the individual the therapy that he or she needs to help him or her loosen up, also prescribed medicines are sort of a must to help these individuals battle anxiety attacks, help them calm down and relax.

In my role as an Alexander Technique Teacher I get asked almost every day “how to treat a stiff neck”. My answer usually comes as a surprise when I reply that I am not going to look at their neck and even try to treat it directly. Why? Well, first I check that they have sought medical advice to exclude any illness or conditions that may be the cause. If they have had the all clear then usually they are prescribed exercise or painkillers for a muscular condition. If this is the case then usually their stiff neck is not actually a direct problem with their neck - it’s their lifestyle. Is your life a pain in the neck?
To treat a stiff neck it is worth starting by looking for a simple solution first. You will be surprised just how many people find relief from their condition by changing their pillow. There are many specialist pillows on the market but before spending in excess of $60 for one of these, try a plump, soft pillow filled with feathers. Make sure the pillow supports your neck. Check your head is not tipped back if sleeping on your back, or below the level of your spine if on your side.
If you have exhausted the pillow solution without success take a look at your posture. Does your head either drop forward or is it pulled back when standing or sitting? In many cases your neck is stiff because muscles elsewhere are not doing their job properly. The muscles of your neck are then working harder to try to keep your head balanced. Efforts to reduce tension in the neck may be ineffective because the muscles cannot let go whilst your body is not supporting itself where it should be. Neck exercises may even make your condition worse because if you attempt to strengthen muscles that are already working too hard this will add more tension to your neck.
If your posture is poor your muscles will not be working together to support you as nature intended. Therefore any attempt to treat a stiff neck should take into account how you are using your body in your everyday activities. How you sit and your desk and in your car may account for a large percentage of your day. It is therefore important to not let your head drop forward putting stress on your neck muscles. Do not allow yourself to be sitting for hours on end - take a short break every twenty to thirty minutes and walk around for a few minutes. You have a number of options to improve your posture. The easiest and most enjoyable is to take up a gentle activity or sport where you can relax and not get stressed out competing. Your objective is to take a break from the pressures of work and/ or family commitments and let your body move freely to release muscular tension that has built up during the day.
Stress is a big contributor to stiff necks because the upper shoulder and neck muscles will contract when under stress. This only has to be slight to start to cause problems for the rest of your body because your head, weighing in at around 10 lbs, will be pulled off balance. Your body won’t topple over because your neck muscles will try to hold it back in place and create unnecessary stress in this area. Whilst it may be impossible to avoid stressful situations in today’s fast moving world, it is possible to learn how to not let yourself react by stiffening your neck in a tight corner.
The most effective way to improve posture and deal with stress is to learn The Alexander Technique. This will take both time and money but once you have learnt this invaluable skill it is yours for life! Visit www.alexandertechnique.com for advice on how to find a qualified teacher.
Note - I would advise you to seek a consultation with a qualified medical practitioner before treating your own neck to exclude more serious conditions.

By Carol Tuttle, Master Energy Therapist and the author of the
best-selling book, Remembering Wholeness: A Personal Handbook
for Thriving in the 21st Century.
Every year your millions of people fall into the same trap.
Overspending, getting stressed out and obsessing about presents,
family gatherings, shopping and all the other trappings that go
with the holiday season
I say enough is enough. Instead of turning the holidays into a
nightmare, let me show you how you can make some easy changes
that will result in the best (and cheapest) season you’ve had in
years.
* Focus on traditions and family experiences this year.
Gather your family together the first week of December for a
family meeting.Brainstorm with your family the traditions of the
past that you have experienced together.List them on a large
piece of paper for all to see.
Next brainstorm traditions you have not experienced yet, but
think you would like to.Everyone gets a say, do not discuss
anything at this point, just make the list.
Now that you have a list of too many things to do for
traditions, go through and let everyone cast a vote forfive
traditions that they would like to experience. The topfive
vote-getters are the ones to experience this year.
* How to break your pattern of going in to debt for the
holidays.
During the first week of December, sit down with your spouse,
(if you are a single parent, sit down with yourself), and decide
how much you can afford to spend this holiday season.Do not
decide based on what you would like to purchase, make the
spending decision based on what you can take out of the bank
without jeopardizing your finances or creating debt.
Next go to the bank and withdraw the amount you have decided on
and place it in a white envelope and use this cash to make your
holiday purchases. This keeps you from making emotional buying
decisions with your credit card and eliminates holiday debt.
* Four things every family can do to make it a more memorable
holiday season without breaking the bank.
- Give gifts
of service to one another rather than items from the store.
- Rather than buy a lot of presents, go on a trip that is
affordable.Forgo the presents in place of the trip. - Find a
family in need and take a portion of your money to help this
family get the basics they need. Make sure you let your children
do the shopping so they have a first-hand experience seeing what
others need that we can take for granted. - Make this year a
Thrift Store Christmas. The rule is every gift has to be
purchased at a thrift store. You would be amazed at the
high-quality items in good condition that you can find at thrift
stores these days.
With the increase in purchasing, people in today’s culture do
not hang on to things like our ancestors did.We get rid of
things a lot faster and in really good condition.Besides just
saving a lot of money, the money you are spending is going to a
good cause as all thrift stores are tied to good causes.

Dr. Mercola’s Comment:Earlier this year I had an opportunity to
attend a three-day Internetseminar with Carol and had a chance
to get to know her. Although I enjoyed the seminar, the
highlight was the opportunity to get to know Carol.
Without a doubt, energy psychology is one of the greatest tools
I have ever encountered in the healing modalities and EFT is an
amazing application of this discipline. Carol happens to be one
of the most gifted EFT clinicians I know of.
If you want to apply some of the principles Carol discusses
in the above article and learn powerful healing techniques to
release the emotional issues that are keeping you from living a
more fulfilling life, you willwantto pick up Carol’s

highly recommended.
Carolstopped seeing clients awhile ago so she can concentrate on
sharing her message over the Internet. However, there was such a
demand for her services that shedecided to limit her patient
load andincrease her fees to $10,000 for a series
ofcomprehensive individual consultations– even at thoserates
she has more clients than she can handle.
InOctober Iinvited Carol to spend some time at my center to
teach my staff some of her principles. We had a great time and
decided that we will offer a joint seminar in Chicago on April
6, 7 and 8. I want to tell you that now as by then it will have
been nearly two years since I have held a major event. The last
one was also in Chicago in June 2004.
It was an EFT event with Gary Craig and we sold out the 550
seats in a few days and had a waiting list of over 500 people
who could not attend.
Well, this event should be far better than the one last year as
we have some incredible programs that will absolutely amaze you
at the benefits you will receive.
Can’t tell you much more about it now, but I do want to forewarn
you to mark you calendars now for next April 6-8 and plan on
being in Chicago for an event you will remember the rest of your
life.

Do you keep your health care plan in the fridge? It’s not a bad
idea actually because if you pick your foods the right way, you
can pack heart disease, colon cancer, osteoporosis, and diabetes
prevention all in a day’s worth of groceries.
Heart Disease It kills nearly 500,000 women a year. The American
Heart Association warns that heart disease, including stroke,
claims more women’s lives than the next six causes of death
combined. Yet few women realize their risks for heart disease.
Hip 30-something singer Toni Braxton thought her chests pains
were just from parenting stress before she discovered that she
had heart disease. While the singer is OK now, she’s getting the
word out about heart disease as the spokeswoman for the American
Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women” campaign.
If you want to be heart smart, you need to be food wise. For
example, according to the Tufts University Health & Nutrition
Letter, a diet loaded with whole grains may lower your risk of
developing heart diseases.
Another clinical research from the Archives of Internal
Medicines found a link between increased dietary fiber and
reduced blood pressure. In short, more fiber may reduce
hypertension and thus lower the blood pressure.
Where to get fiber and whole grains: Apples, grapes, celery,
whole grain bread and cereal (make sure that sugar is not a main
ingredient), whole-wheat pasta, popcorn, barley, oats and
oatmeal, rye, corn, brown rice, bulgur or cracked wheat, and
wheat germ.
Colon Cancer The fiber gleaned from a whole oat rich diet also
reduces the risks of developing colon cancer. Similarly in
animal studies, selenium has shown anti-cancer benefits.
Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health noted that
calcium limits the development of rectal lesions, which could
become cancerous.
Where to get calcium and selenium: Broccoli, bran, brown rice,
cottage cheese, garlic, onion, Brazil nuts, molasses, eggs,
yogurt, celery, tahini, kidney beans.
Osteoporosis Are you going to scream if someone else tells you
to drink your milk to make your bones strong? While calcium has
hoarded the spotlight for osteoporosis prevention, Dr. Alan R
Gaby points out in the Townsend Letter for Doctors & Patients,
that magnesium, manganese, and zinc are just as important in the
fight against osteoporosis.
Where to get them:
Magnesium: Almonds, bran, oat, hazel nuts, pecans, lentils,
sunflower seeds.
Manganese: Avocado, walnuts, pineapple, buckwheat, parsley,
spinach
Zinc: Cheese, raw cashews, egg white, sunflower seeds, macadamia
nuts, wheat germ
Diabetes Christine Gerbstadt, M.D., R.D., spokeswoman for the
American Dietetic Association suggests limiting your risks for
diabetes by consuming orange and leafy green veggies. Adding on
a high quality fiber rich cereal can also limit your risk for
diabetes.
Where to get orange and leafy green veggies: Spinach, yams,
papayas, peppers, rich green varieties of lettuce, lemons,
parsley, cilantro
Here’s a final reason to stash your health care plan in the
fridge. A finding presented at the Annual Scientific Session of
the American College of Cardiology that analyzed the records
from 2,857 heart attack survivors treated at Michigan hospitals
found that men had a better chance of surviving after treatment
than women.
One reason for this could be that the women receive less
one-on-one sessions with the doctors or nurses before going
home. The lesson here is to put health in your own hands before
you even need to use your health insurance.
Increase your chances of beating heart disease, colon cancer,
diabetes, and osteoporosis now. It’s as easy as buying apples,
beets and carrots. I’ll see you in the produce section.

Green Tea is very commonly used in China since several hundred years as a cure for many ailments. These days, green tea is used in a broad spectrum of treatments and cures from cancer prevention, weight loss, antioxidant applications to anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. Regular intake of a single cup of green tea or a capsule of green tea extract a day is all it takes.
You should bear in mind that there is no miracle remedy for weight loss. However, studies done over last few years point towards many benefits of making of green tea weight loss programs.
Green tea is extracted from the plant called Camellia sinensis which is native to Asia. This plant is rich in the substance called epigallochatechin gallate or EGCG. It acts as the main ingredient for destruction of free radicals in our body, the main cause for aging process and disease generation. EGCG in green tea also contains antioxidant which helps keep cholesterol levels under control.
It has been proved by scientific studies that green tea can be used in weight loss programs. Ten healthy young men were used as the subjects for a weight loss program. Then difference in energy expenditures of green tea, caffeine, stand alone placebo was observed. It showed that green tea boosted energy expenditure by a almost four percent, quite an increase.
If you are on a weight loss program, green tea is a good alternative to drinking coffee and cream which area high in calories. Green tea weight loss programs provide a two-pronged benefit. While on one hand calorie consumption is controlled, on the other hand your body gets a regular supply of many healthy substances like polyphenols and flavonoids. Caffeine has appetite suppressant properties. Green tea also contains a small amount of caffeine, which makes it all the more useful in a weight loss diet plan.
Statistical reports provide one more benefit of using green tea as a vital ingredient in low carb weight loss recipes. It helps reduce fat by inhibiting the effects of insulin.Insulin is known for converting glucose into energy for the body to be stored into fat. By delaying insulin, green tea weight loss programs enable sugar to be sent directly to the muscles for instant use, thus preventing fats from forming.
The process within our body of burning fat and releasing calories is also known as thermogenesis. Low carb weight loss diet plans which use green tea, promote the process of thermogenesis. It is caused by an interaction of caffeine content and catechin polyphenols present in green tea. It is what makes such weight loss programs very effective in stimulating metabolic rates.
