Elliptical Cross Trainers

January 21st, 2008

Elliptical cross trainer is an alternative to conventional ways. Most elliptical cross trainers performs dual functions i.e. they work with upper body and at the same time works on the lower portion of the body. Some of the main features include a crank, footpads and handgrips.

Attached to a crank is an axis which revolves as the bar moves, which is attached to another end of crank, an end almost moves in a linear back and forth motion. This results in an elliptical path of the machine. The footpads of the trainers allows user to stand on them while handgrips allows holding onto them while working out to maintain balance.

Though it seems similar to walking or running, the elliptical trainer path of the machine makes the workout similar to skiing or hiking. During workout the feet never leaves footpads which avoids the risk of joint injury. This dual function machine allows you to not only feel refreshed but also burns off fats.
