Writing autoresponder messages

July 3rd, 2007

When writing an automatic responder message you must make sure the content is relevant for the list. This comes from knowing your list, why they subscribed, their interests, and being in touch with your readers. When you know your
readers you can always provide content in your messages that will get good results and reduce the number of people that unsubscribe from your list and continue to receive messages from you. You really must connect with the
people on your list and when you do you will see your response rate increase which will provide an increase in your overall statistics. When writing an autoresponder message, don’t just type something up and then send it out. Be a bit creative, make it interesting. Because you really want people to read your message. Why? Because it is pre-selling them on what you are promoting. That’s right, your message is pre-selling. Your messages need to be persuasive, to get people to “click” on the link you are providing. That’s the goal, that’s the result you want. So you use these mini sales letters to pre-sell whatever you are promoting, then drive traffic to the sales page for the product or service. Now here’s where a lot of people fall down. They have a great autoresponder message that has a really great response rate, but the sales page just doesn’t do the job of “finishing off” the sale and getting the reader to pull out their credit card. That’s for another article though.
